Saint Paul writes: “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). Christian parents often struggle with putting these words into practice. How do we do devotions at home? What are the pros and cons of various forms of discipline? How do we guide our kids in cultivating quality friendships? How do we teach them forgiveness, patience, modesty, generosity? How and when do we talk to them about biology, sexuality, dating? What are things to consider regarding digital devices and social media? How is our local education system influencing our children beyond the 3 Rs? The questions parents are facing seem to be endless.
Here at Saint John we gather parents of children age 0-18 (future parents are welcome too) to discuss various parental and family topics. These discussions, grounded in God’s Word, allow parents to collaborate and learn from each other’s experiences and wisdom. This parental conversation takes place once a month on a Sunday morning, beginning at 10:45am. It is led by Pastor Mumme and meets in the education room.
Note: Please check our church calendar for upcoming dates.
